Quality management.
A focus on quality is central to the ReFuel culture. We provide a product of consistent quality to BS EN 14214, reliably and dependably, believing this to be a key factor in building customer confidence and loyalty.
Raw materials
We are committed to the use of waste vegetable oils as the most environmentally responsible raw material feedstock. However, by definition, the quality of waste oil – which is sourced from various processes throughout the UK - does vary. We do not process the types of vegetable oils with known performance disadvantages (waxing, cold flow, etc) and test all delivered raw materials to confirm quality and composition, rejecting any not meeting our strict quality criteria.
Process control
Each stage of our manufacturing process is designed to ensure complete transesterification of WVO into biodiesel such that any by-products are either converted or removed. This requires careful temperature control, accurate measurement of catalysts and additives, and sufficient time for the process to complete.
Testing
Our technicians take samples from every batch produced and test these to the requirements of EN14214 (water content, oxidation stability, alkalinity, free glycerine, FFA’s and sulphur) using in-house laboratory facilities. All consignments are then certified prior to despatch.
